Where is your city?
What’s the cheapest way to enjoy this city at night?
Stroll the promenade, people watch and gaze at the sea with it’s magical coastline. Or, simply sit at an outdoor cafe and enjoy the joi de vivre!
What’s your favorite restaurant here? What’s so special about it?
I have a few…La Petite Maison, for great people watching and the marron glace (candied chestnut), with creme dessert; Bistro Antoine, a not-so-hidden gem, fresh and very French; L’Atelier, for unique dishes served on top of Socca (a Nicoise specialty); Rene Socca, very inexpensive and delicious for my quick socca-fix; Le Bistro du Fromager, set in an old wine cave with yummy cheeses & wines; Fenocchio- THE best gelato!!!
What’s your favorite thing to do on a warm Sunday morning in this city?
Take a long walk on the Promenade, continuing along the coast and going all the way to Ville Franche. The views are spectacular! Then have a lovely lunch on the port (sipping rose wine, of course!) and walk back.
What were some of the hidden gems in that city? Why?
“The biggest hidden gem to me is not a place, but rather the life-style. It’s very laid back, unpretentious and the people very open to chat with you, even if you are speaking your best, “”not-so-great”” French! And, don’t be surprised to see everyone double parking on the street to run in and buy their loaf of bread or just pull over to talk with someone for a while 🙂
In Cap d’Ail however, my favorite beach spot (everyone I bring here says it’s their fav day!), would be spent at Eden Plage Mala. It’s in a hidden cove; about a half-hour drive toward Monaco (also near the local train route). Not very well known by tourists, but reservations are necessary. ”
Anything else you want to add?
I am re-inventing my website/under construction, so you may not want to include it. Up to you! 🙂
